Yasmine Perreten is a Swiss-Egyptian painter based in Cairo. Born and raised in Switzerland, she grew up in a family with artistic roots that trace back to Mahmoud Saïd, one of Egypt’s most celebrated modern painters. Although she painted and drew occasionally as a child, art would only become a significant part of her life much later.

During a particularly challenging period, Yasmine discovered the painting by feelings method — an intuitive approach that values presence and connection over technical precision. This opened a new path for self-expression, becoming both a source of healing and a powerful means of self-discovery. The experience was so profound that she began teaching the method, sharing its transformative and empowering potential with others.

Love at first sight led Yasmine to Egypt, the land of her ancestors, where she continued to paint and teach for a several years. When life’s challenges led to a period of burnout, art became her steadfast anchor — a way to reconnect with herself, rediscover joy, and rekindle her creative spirit. In time, she trained with the Milan Art Institute, turning what had been a private practice into her profession. In October 2025, she presented her first solo exhibition, The Queen and the Granddaughter, at Liwan Art Gallery in Zamalek, Cairo.

Today, Yasmine lives with her husband on their farm in Egypt, surrounded by Arabian horses and palm trees. She continues to develop her work as a full-time artist, with new projects and exhibitions ahead.
